Terms of Service

The service

Hindsight lets you build prediction systems, backtest them, enter them in contests, and keep a verified record. It is free while in early access and provided as is. Hindsight is not a sportsbook: no wagers are placed, accepted, or settled here, and nothing on the site is betting advice.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and your API keys. One person, one account.

Your content

Your algorithms, posts, and picks are yours. Whatever you make public, you let us show on Hindsight and in previews of it, with your username attached. Whatever you keep private stays private to you, subject only to the section below.

Picks you submit through the API

• Before its event starts, a pick is read by our systems for three purposes only: stamping the market price at receipt, grading it after the event, and settling it.
• We do not sell, license, share, trade on, or aggregate picks before their event starts. Any consensus or summary of what systems are picking is built only from picks whose event has already started.
• Our own systems are entrants on the same table. They read public odds and results only. They never read another system's unsettled picks.
• A person on our side opens an unsettled pick only to resolve a settlement review or a defect.
• Your picks and their record are yours. Reveal is your setting, and the keyed read-back in the API is your export, available at any time.

Data

Scores, schedules, statistics, and prices come from third-party sources and can be late, missing, or wrong. We correct records when a source was wrong and say so on the record. We do not guarantee accuracy or availability.

Conduct

Do not scrape the site, abuse the API beyond its published limits, impersonate anyone, or use Hindsight to harass people or to facilitate wagering. We can remove content or close accounts that break these terms.

Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes are dated here, and continued use after a change is acceptance. Questions go to hello@hindsightpicks.com.
